Frequently Asked Questions

We have tried to answer as many of your questions as we can. If you have others, please Contact Us .

Why do you need donations?

We’ve always needed donations, from corporate sponsors to our patrons list found in the back of every program. The stark truth of the matter is this: box office receipts and concession sales do not cover the costs of producing quality shows, much less the expenses of keeping up the building and grounds.

Insurance, utilities, and debt repayment don’t stop just because we’re closed. We also need that operating cash to pre-pay expenses for upcoming seasons, such as securing the rights to new shows now, so that we’ll be ready when it’s time to re-open

Are the donations secure?

Yes.

We do not process the payments. Instead, we use well-known and trusted providers such as PayPal and Vendini to manage this for us. They use industry-standard encryption to make sure your payment is secure.

How will the money be spent?

First and foremost, on covering our fixed costs, including utilities and debt service. We also need money in order to get the rights to next season’s shows purchased.

What was LTG doing prior to the pandemic to be in a better financial position?

The Board of Directors at LTG, like those of similar theaters across the nation, struggles each month with the budget. We are very fortunate to have such a lovely venue for our shows.

Maintaining that space for the safety and comfort of all who come to LTG is not cheap. Roofs need to be replaced, gutters repaired, plumbing updated, etc.

The Board had recently begun implementing new policies that would open the theater up for additional events of community interest throughout the year, both to raise additional funds for our operation, and as a way to increase our visibility among the community. Unfortunately, these events were preempted by the mandated closure.
